🏀2023-24 (Freshman) — Whitney has had a very impressive Freshman year, earning more and more playing time as the season has progressed … has made the most of her time on the court, using her length, athleticism, and basketball instincts & skill to make to an immediate impact on an unbeaten District Champion squad..

Whitney made an early impression in November, scoring a season high 10 points, shooting 67% from the field, including 2-for-2 on 3-pointers, and grabbing 4 rebounds against Bishop Lynch in the Colleyville Heritage Tip-Off Classic.

Whitney stepped up against top competition again in December in the prestigious Sandra Meadows Classic in Duncanville, scoring 8 points, on 3-for-4 shooting, including two 3-pointers, against Conway, the top ranked team in Arkansas.

Whitney’s top games in District 4-6A play came against league runner-up Fossil Ridge, where she scored 8 points on 50% shooting & grabbed 5 rebounds in a 71-46 win … she also tallied 5 points against Eaton and Byron Nelson … she grabbed 6 rebounds in 11 minutes of action against San Antonio East Central & had 3 steals vs Grapevine & Frisco Heritage.

Through hard work & dedication, Whitney has the potential to be a cornerstone player for the Lady Dragons the next 3 years, one college coaches should keep a close eye on.

🏀2023-24 Playoffs — Whitney has come up big as a 6th man in the postseason, scoring 7 points in a 67-46 Regional Quarterfinal win over Wolfforth Frenship.

▪️Favorite Sports Team — My favorite sports team that I have played on is my Triumph basketball team. I have been on the team for about 3 years.

▪️Top Athletic Achievement — Making the Lady Dragon Varsity as a Freshman — my club team won a tournament in Oklahoma & advanced far in an Ohio tournament. Also, I won the Dawson Middle School 8th Grade Athlete Award.

▪️Favorite School Subject — Math — I like calculating equations & I usually have good & fun teachers.

▪️Academic Achievements/Community Service — I was the only girl in my class to receive the George Dawson Middle School Spirit Award. I volunteer at Cotillion & am currently starting a service project with GRACE.

▪️Favorite Teacher Ever — Mrs. Sides (7th & 8th Grade Science) at Dawson Middle School

▪️College Aspirations — BYU — I would like to study something with business, but I’m not sure yet.

▪️Hobbies & Interests — I like all sports, watching & playing. I like to go swimming and go to water parks.

▪️Career Ambition — I would like to coach basketball in high school or be a part of the business society.

▪️Favorite Athletes — Caitlin Clark & Kobe Bryant because of their hard work & dedication to the game.

▪️Favorite Entertainers — Jordan Davis & Imagine Dragons. My favorite actors are Tom Holland & Zendaya

▪️Family — I have 2 brothers who play football, & a younger sister who plays volleyball. My Mom played Volleyball in high school & is getting her Masters right now. My dad played basketball in high school and works at Sherwin-Williams.
